Our client, a Europe based software company, is currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join its team in Kuala Lumpur.

Telecommunication Software Engineer

Responsibilities/Opportunity

• Provide support for full software development lifecycle for delivery of complex GSM/GPRS software from concept through to delivery to end customer
• Requirements definition, functional and design specification development
• Provide technical leadership, where required to less experienced engineers within the team
• Develop code, develop and execute Unit, Integration and System-Level Test Plans
• Estimation, planning and execution to agreed quality standards
• Agree, define functional interfaces and liaise with Test, Support, Product and Project Management groups. Therefore good communication skills are required
• Provide key input to process definition and improvement

Skills/Experience

• Technical Leadership experience, with good people interaction skills
• A technical degree qualification is a key requirement for this role
• Previous experience in the Telecoms Industry (3-5 years industry experience)
• Advanced C/C++ programming ability. At least 3+ years practical experience is a mandatory requirement
• IP Networking
• Knowledge of Linux OS kernel and driver development
• Knowledge of some Telecom Standards and Protocols (for example SS7, GSM ABIS/A interface protocols, GPRS, 3G RANAP & Node B interface protocols, MAP, SIGTRAN, Voice Codecs and VoIP protocols)
• Experience of design/development in any of the following would be advantageous:

       1)Telecoms stack development
      2)Scripting
      3)Tools development
      4)Makefiles
      5)Java
      6)Databases
      7)Scalability of systems
