Network Engineer

Main Role & Responsibilities :
  • Responsible to execute the site installation verification activities, including performing antenna system tests, standard site installation verification, site integration and basic fault handling.
  • Responsibilities include the planning, design, optimization and performance verification of Radio Frequency (RF) work for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA).
  • Responsibilities for Site survey, including Los survey, Frequency Plan, System Configuration, Link and Route plan & Scan Frequency.
  • Deliver network performance to the agreed performance criteria and guidelines.
  • Development of new sites that will deliver to the appropriate network design criteria, design strategies (to be done in conjunction with network performance & network design).
  • Responsible for collecting, analyze, processing the data and making the report for the customer.
  • Provide technical solution (Recommendation) and support to customer.
  • Provide regular feedback / reporting on operations, issues.
  • Performs Installation, Configurations, Commissioning, and Provisioning of all Access Network
  • Support the development of the all network planning and optimization process and procedure development.

REQUIREMENTS :
  • Minimum holder of Diploma (D3) in Telecommunication Engineering or other degree with 2 years experience in Telco.
  • Capable in team work or individual work.
  • Ability to understand and comply with methods, standards, guidelines, tools, techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to work on odd hours/weekends.
  • Posses a good skill in problem analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Replacement of replaceable Network Infrastructure.
  • Function verification in accordance with the maintenance documentation of the network element.
  • Performance of function verification in co-operation with the NOC Operator.
  • Troubleshooting on a network element and its interfaces.
  • Diagnostics on interfaces to locate problems in network elements and/or plug-in units.
  • Emergency support and standby on 24x7 basis for the services.
  • Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCDA or CCDP shall be advantageous.
  • Willing to work both indoor and outdoor.
  • Understanding of ATM, X.25, networking, VLANS, TCP / IP, VoIP, QoS, NAT's, network administration and design, Sonet, Packet Cable, O/S Platforms such as Windows, Solaris, Unix , Linux as well as tools such as Sniffer, T1, E1 testers, OCX and hardware including Cisco Routers, media Gateways, other softswitches, Sun Solaris, Sun Servers and Nortel switches.

The British Embassy wishes to fill a full time contract position for an Economist, as part of the South East Asia Economic Team.

As part of a regional SE Asia Economic Team, you will also analyse and report SE Asian economic developments. You will also provide the economic analysis to support the UK Department for International Development’s aid programmes in Indonesia. This is a new and exciting position with considerable scope for the jobholder to shape. You will join a newly established team of economists based throughout SE Asia reporting to the Team Leader/Line Manager based in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, analyse and report regularly on Indonesian economic developments and impacts, especially Indonesia’s views on the G20 throughout the UK chairmanship in 2009.
  • Report on SE Asian regional economic issues to inform UK policymaking. Leading the team’s reporting on Political Economy Issues in SE Asia and contributing the Indonesian perspective to the regional thematic reports lead by other team members.
  • Develop a good network of influential Indonesian contacts, acquiring detailed knowledge of the UK and Indonesia’s economic objectives. Provide clear briefings to senior diplomats and visitors. Facilitate visits of UK policy makers to Indonesia. Work to increase UK-Indonesian expert-level contact and develop small to medium sized projects funded by the UK government.
  • Work closely with SE Asian Regional Economic Team, as well as officers in the Department for International Development and UK Trade and Investment
  • Ensure business continuity by giving back up to another economist in the team in covering each other’s country economies during absences.
  • Report to Team Leader, SE Asia Regional Economic Team (based in Singapore), guided by the Leader of the Indonesian Climate Change and Economy Team, with whom the jobholder is co-located in Jakarta.


Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years work experience in relevant field
  2. A degree (preferably Master degree) – Majoring in Economics/Development Studies or any related degree.
  3. Excellent communication and networking skills in English and Indonesian (both oral and written)
  4. Excellent IT skills and experience, including MS Office
  5. Excellent understanding of the Indonesian economy
  6. Self motivation and ability to work under light supervision (line managed from Singapore)
  7. An understanding of regional economy and familiarity with the UK is beneficial

Salary
The starting salary will be in the region of Rp. 9.000.000, -/month (depending on qualifications and experience) + yearly bonus. The British Embassy is an equal opportunities employer.
