Lecturer in Flood and Sediment Dynamics - School of Earth and Environment

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated scientist to bridge between our research groups such as the Sedimentology Group in the Institute of Geological Sciences, School of Earth and Environment and our River Basin Processes and Management Research Cluster in the School of Geography. You will work in an area that contributes to understanding of the interactions between fluid flows, flooding, landscapes and sediment using an approach that is amenable to producing predictions and understanding implications under relevant climate change scenarios and land management change.

You will have a PhD in an environmental or engineering field allied to water science along with a proven track record of research funding and an international reputation for research excellence with high-quality publications. You should have a clear research vision including a programme of research over the next five years that would attract external funding and catalyse future trans-disciplinary initiatives.
