Network Management Operations Technician, Singapore


Our client, one of the largest IT MNC in the world is seeking dynamic individuals to join their new Team as a Network Management Operations Technician.

The successful candidate should be able to:
  • Resolve complex problems quickly and methodically in a fast paced atmosphere;
  • Work independently and as a functional part of a team;
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with management, support teams, and customers;
  • Handle multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively;
  • Maintain professionalism and composure while encountering difficult situations.
  • The candidate should be familiar with the Remedy ticketing system.
  • They need to be able to filter thru new tickets, notifications, and calls into the center to determine which issues need to be worked and those that can be closed.
  • They will need to be able to follow predefined Methods & Procedures as well as job aides based on alarm text in the auto-generated tickets.
  • The candidate must have experience with software and operating systems (including UNIX, Linux, basic Cisco IOS, and basic Nortel Switch/LBA OS software).
  • They need Unix/Linux proficiency (3-5 years experience).
  • The candidate should have a little familiarity with a broad spectrum of communications equipment (including Nortel LBAs and Switches, Cisco routers and switches, Sun Servers and IBM blade servers).
  • They need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good English speaking skills are a must

Job Requirements:
  • Communication skills with Good English speaking skills very a important criteria.
  • Tier 1.5 Support Requirements: 3 years experience in Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris operating Systems
  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS and Nortel Switch/LBA OS
  • Familiarity with Sun Servers and IBM Blade Servers Basic understanding of Data and Voice networking
  • Experience managing a ticket queue particularly a Remedy system
  • Good problem solving & analytical skills
  • Great verbal and written communication skills

Prefer candidates with certifications in Linux, Solaris & Cisco.

Major Responsibilities

Energy engineers of the future

What is an EngD?

  • Lasts for four years
  • Provides a stipend of up to £20,000, much higher than a traditional PhD
  • Provides an extensive period of time to conduct basic research in industry (approx. three years)
  • Will equip research engineers for high-level careers in the energy sector

Why do an EngD?
The EngD is particularly suited to anyone with an interest in the future of power generation who is keen to tackle the major national and international challenges associated with the implmentation of new power plant that will:
  • Generate electricity more efficiently
  • Use fossil energy with near-zero emissions
  • Successfully demonstrate CO2 capture
  • Reduce CO2 emissions (from coal utilisation)
  • Industrial involvement
Research engineers will spend time working closely with a number of industrial sponsors. Throughout years two to four, they will pursue a research project based at one of the sponsor organisations whilst receiving supervision, guidance and ongoing tuition from the universities.

Applicants will need either a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours degree in a relevant subject such as Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Materials Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Physics or Mathematics.
