Database Administrator
Job Scope:
- Maintains (DB2; Sybase/MS SQL; Oracle) databases - Plans, installs, upgrades, migrations, tuning, monitoring etc
- Research and resolve database problems. Assist in the resolution of application-related problems
- Ensuring database integrity, security, stability and system availability
- Database product administration
- Analyze and work with applications teams on software releases, patches and database refreshes to multiple environments
- Develop and maintain process control procedures to be followed by the Database Operations unit
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning; participate in capacity planning
- Support Continuity of Business
- Meeting the software compliance & audit requirement
- Ensure compliance to Information Technology Management Policies and Standards
Requirements:
- Candidate should have in-depth system administration knowledge on database - DB2 on zOS or Sybase/MS SQL or Oracle.
- At least a degree holder with 3-5 years of database administration
- Candidate should be a self-starter and comfortable working effectively in a fast paced environment
- A 24x7 production network and candidates must be willing to work evenings and weekends
- Strong operational experience administering and tuning DB2 version 8 and above or MS SQL, SYBASE or Oracle in 24/7 production environments
